Sperm sorting using magnetic separator
Sperm sorting using magnetic separator
This is a non-invasive method to select non-apoptotic sperm using magnetic separation technique. The paramagnetic nanobeads are conjugated with Annexin V, a 35-36 kDa phospholipid binding protein that has selective affinity to bind with externalized phosphotidyl serine. The magnet in the system retains the apoptotic sperm labeled with microbeads and the unlabeled spermatozoa can be used for IUI/IVF/ICSI.
The kit can be used for fresh, washed and frozen-thawed samples. The components of the kit are free from human and animal derived ingredients. Preparation kit contains paramagnetic nanobeads for 10 tests.

Main characteristics:
Apoptosis, or programmed cell death, involves series of morphological and biochemical changes that eventually result in cellular death.
The translocation of the phosphotidyl serine, normally present on the inner leaflet of the plasma membrane, to the outer surface has been identified as one of the signals for detecting early apoptotic processes in human sperm cells.
