The 35th Annual Meeting of European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE) was held in Vienna, Austria. Our company exhibited a beautiful booth with a big sperm illuminated and presented the main features of the new SCA SCOPE and the Sperm Class Analyzer (SCA) CASA System, as well as the software for karyotyping and FISH, MetaClass. In addition, visitors got the chance to see and touch the new disposables displayed: Counting chambers SCA, Morphology slides SCA, Vitality slides SCA and Leukocytes slides SCA (all compatible with the new device SCA SCOPE).

We would like to highlight a study presented during the conference by Dr Montserrat Boada from Dexeus Women’s Health, a SCA user, whose group worked with the Polytechnic University of Barcelona. In the presentation, investigators said that the lack of difference in a range of sperm characteristics observed in frozen sperm samples exposed to microgravity and those maintained in ground conditions ‘open the possibility of safely transporting male gametes to space and considering the possibility of creating a human sperm bank outside Earth’.

The ESHRE Annual Meeting has truly become an international forum for experts in the field from around the world. In 2020 the 36th Annual Meeting will be held from 5 to 8 July in Copenhagen, Denmark.

We thank our users, visitors and distributors for coming.
